Pete, Ellie, and baby Ocean. Although at 10 months old, he is fast outgrowing the title ‘baby’. Fortunately, that suits us well (even though it brings tears to our eyes to watch him grow up so quickly!) as the plan is to head offshore within the next couple of years and ideally, the young lad will be able to hold on! We recently purchased our first yacht together (Jan 2023, wow it feels good to write that!) after reflecting on our lives as new parents in 2022 and making a plan to put our sailing dream into action. We purchased Zula our Gulfstar 44 after what felt like a long journey to find the right boat, sailed her up to Northland, from Tauranga, New Zealand, and moved aboard in Marsden Point. The adventure begins! As does the learning, fixing, sailing (obviously!), and getting her (and us) up to off shore standard.
